Dafalen Peak: Summit Over the Love Lagoon

Dafalen, sometimes called “Puncak Love,” is a vantage summit that overlooks a heart-shaped lagoon below, mirroring the romantic geography found at Kawarapop.  Visitors hike up a sloping ridge or stairs (some parts in disrepair) to reach the viewpoint. From the top, one sees the lagoon with its symmetrical shape, flanked by steep limestone walls and tropical forest. The juxtaposition of vertical rock faces, deep water, and forested slopes produces a dramatic and memorable landscape. The climb can be adventurous, but many consider it a must for capturing the perfect aerial view of the “Love Lagoon” in its full glory. Because of its ecological sensitivity, visitation is often guided and paced to minimize impact.
